Silence does not simply exist. It collects in certain places, at certain hours, the way light settles into a corner before the day ends. Where Silence Gathers is an artwork about that quiet accumulation, about the moment stillness becomes its own kind of presence.
No paint. No print. No ink. The image is not placed on the surface but drawn from it, shaped through depth and controlled absence. What appears has always been there, waiting for the right light and the right hour to become visible.
From across the room, the work is still and monumental. It holds the wall without insisting. Step closer, and the surface opens into something else entirely: a field of depth that shifts and breathes with every movement, every change in light.
Silence, the work suggests, is not the absence of something. It is where something gathers. The work carries that paradox in its surface, making visible what is usually only felt.
Where Silence Gathers continues the Art with Void series by Tijs Dragtsma, in which imagery is constructed through depth and absence rather than paint or print.
"Where silence gathers, something waits to be seen."
A visual language where absence is not emptiness, but presence.
