The Creation of Adam

In this work. one of the most iconic images in art history is reimagined through scratches in acrylic glass.

Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam is a symbol of life. connection. and the fragile moment between the human and the divine. In this interpretation. the image does not appear through paint or ink. but through damage. Every scratch catches the light in a different way. Slowly revealing the figures as the viewer moves around the work.

That tension is central to the piece.

Creation usually suggests something pure and untouched. Here. creation comes from disruption. From marks. From pressure. From controlled imperfection. The image exists because the surface has been altered.

The near touch between the two hands becomes even more powerful in this medium. A tiny distance separates emptiness from meaning. Silence from life. Absence from presence.

The scratches in the acrylic glass act almost like traces of energy. As if the moment of creation has left a permanent mark in the material itself.
