A Thousand Nails into the Light of David
A sculptural homage to Michelangelo’s David — reimagined through 1,000 solid brass nails, light, and form.
This portrait is constructed entirely without paint or print. From a distance, the classical face emerges with quiet intensity. Up close, the image dissolves into abstraction — raw, rhythmic, almost chaotic — each nail reflecting a sliver of light across matte black acrylic glass.
Crafted from untreated solid brass, the nails will gradually develop a natural patina. This transformation adds warmth and depth, allowing the piece to evolve over time — like memory, like legacy.
Framed in a matte black wooden float frame with gold-accented edges, A Thousand Nails into the Light of David invites reflection. It’s not an imitation of marble, but a reinterpretation in metal — where strength is drawn not from volume, but from contrast and restraint.
This piece is part of a limited edition of 5, each handcrafted and signed.
