Dust Between Two Worlds

Dust Between Two Worlds captures a single, silent moment far from home. An astronaut stands still in the dust of the moon, turned toward a distant earth that glows softly in the darkness. Between them lies nothing but empty space, yet the distance feels intimate, almost unbearable.

The image does not appear through paint or print. It is revealed through controlled scratches etched into black acrylic glass, delicate lines of light drawn out of darkness by removing rather than adding. As you move around the work, the light shifts, and the astronaut and the earth behind them drift between clarity and absence, much like a memory that surfaces and fades.

From a distance, the piece reads as one monumental, luminous scene. Up close, it dissolves into a field of fine, controlled surface damage, a texture that only makes sense once the eye steps back and the story reassembles itself.

Beneath the composition lies a quiet emotional charge, the ache of looking back at everything familiar while standing somewhere utterly foreign. The moon here is harsh, empty, indifferent. Earth is soft, radiant, alive, holding all the warmth the astronaut has left behind. That contrast becomes the true subject of the work, longing measured across an immense, silent distance.
