Art with Scratch works by removal, not addition, no paint, no print, no ink. What the surface withholds matters as much as what it reveals, and here the untouched black holds the figure and the fallen alike in a kind of quiet shelter, present but not fully surrendered to view.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe image is always there, in daylight or in shadow. Light does not create it, light sharpens it.
